The theme for 2014 is Fragment.

Susan won this years vote for her concept of Fragment.

‘FRAGMENTS’

1. Cultural

 - choose a culture (one only)

Or

- choose a different culture for each

Piece you make.

OR

2. Material

- material fragments from manufacturing.

Or

- material fragments from 'old clothing'/ or 'patchwork' /or 'glitz' you decide.

My idea would be that you would start forming your ideas for your work from a small "fragment or

Fragments" ( 1 or 2 ) and develop your work in this way, however, the narrative will be up to you to formulate.

Since Annette was attending an Assemblage workshop - or so she thought  she requested that  the voting be early so that the decision was in time for the workshop.

The workshop turned out to be about learning to felt and adding details by felting or stitching them in.  This was an excellent workshop by Silvia Watt organised by Timeless Textiles.

Three Filament members attended and we are all fired up with the possibility of felting.  The enthusiasm has extended to all of us now.  

At our jam packed November meeting Susan started us off on our group project and some are finished already or on their way.
